Class Description:

Have you ever tried sewing a hat? Here is your chance! It is great fun and the result so satisfying. …and even better, as this hat is reversible you get two hats in one.

In this class you will learn to join curves/circles. With lots of encouragements as well as all the tips and tricks required for easy joining, you will have a great time with a fantastic result and a hat/s no one else has.

You can use fabrics from previous garment projects for a matching hat or upcycle your favourite garment now out of style.

You will learn how to work with interfacing and to choose the best quality for a successful outcome as well as the look you want to achieve.

This class includes a pattern with 3 adult sizes as well as 3 children’s sizes so you will be hat making for all your friends and family.

Get creative! We will discuss and brainstorm ideas for chopping and changing the pattern for a variety of different looks and styles.

• Interfacing for your first Hat

What you need to bring:

• Bring your own lunch. Full kitchen facilities are available. Weather permitting, we will be enjoying our lunch in the garden. Morning tea is provided
• 2 x 40cm of fabric. Quilting cottons or lighter weight drills are a great first choice.
• Your Sewing machine and manual (if you have one)
• General sewing equipment such as pins, fabric shears, seam ripper etc
• Threads and a small selection of equipment is available for purchase.

Skill Level:

This class is recommended for the sewists who are comfortable using their machine and have beginner sewing skills.
