Class Description:
Have you never knitted before, just a little or do you just want to learn the fast and more comfortable Scandinavian way to knit? This is the class for you!
This class will teach you the very basics from how to hold your needles and yarn (the Scandinavian or English way), to the skills needed in gaining the confidence to start your own knitting projects.
You will learn how to cast on, the knit and purl stitches, how to cast off and more. We will discuss different projects suitable for you to knit on your own and how to read a pattern.
This is what hygge is all about (without the snowstorm). A great class for you as a parent or grandparent to share with your teenager.
This class will have you ready for the next step knitting classes in the autumn and winter months where the wonderful techniques of colour work, Fair Isles and Lace/patterned knitting will be offered.
Project:
You can make squares for a blanket or a cushion.
Make a mobile phone sock or an iPad cover.
Why not a scarf? So many possibilities.

What you need to bring:
- Knitting yarn and knitting needles suitable for the thickness of the yarn you choose.
- I recommend a 10 or 12 ply worsted (smooth) yarn, preferably wool, suitable for needle size 5 – 6 mm (metric)

Skill Level: This class is for the beginner or knitters who want to learn the Scandinavian style of knitting where you knit with the yarn in your left hand, ‘picking’ the yarn rather than throwing. This style is much faster as well as being more gentle on your hands and shoulders.
