Creative Sewing for Kids and Teens – Starts 16th March

Class Times and Dates:
4:30 pm- 6 pm

Mondays 10th, 17th, 24th of February and 9th of March

AND/OR

16th, 23rd, 30th of March and 6th of April

The dates are consecutive i.e. booking both, secures an 8 week course of Creative Sewing

(These dates are over a 9 week period as Monday 2nd of March is a public holiday)

Duration: 4 x 1.5 hrs

Cost: $125.00

Maximum of 6 sewists in the class

Class Description:

The Sewing Machine Drivers Licence is the first project.

Once familiar with what is where and why on the machine, setting it up, winding bobbins etc it is all about learning to sew, using a creative and fun approach in developing the life-long skill of sewing.

The small class size ensures each participant receives a lot of one-on-one attention and encouragement, while progressing at their own pace, working on a project of their own choice.

Projects:

• You will receive a Certificate for your Sewing Machine Driver’s Licence.
• You will practice all the new skills and techniques on a fabric base, which becomes your own exciting, unique piece of fabric to use in your project.
• You will be guided in choosing one of several projects of your interest.
• Options include: picture stretched over a canvas, a cushion, bunting, a bag. Ideas and possibilities are endless.

Cost Includes:

• Certificate achieved for Sewing Machine Driver’s Licence
• Personalised tuition based on interests and skill levels.
• All materials and use of machines.
• A light afternoon snack is supplied. We try really hard to be ‘sort of’ healthy.

For garment creation, participants supply fabric (and pattern) of their own choice. Please discuss before making any purchases.

What you need to bring:

If you want to learn on your own machine, please feel free to bring it.

Skill Level: This class is for 10 years and above. Absolute beginners will learn the basics, achieving their Sewing Machine Drivers Licence then progress to more projects of their choice.
