Class Description:

In this class you will learn to sew a super handy, flat bottom zipper pouch.

This is definitely one of my favourite projects.

It is the perfect go-to handmade gift for a special friend and endlessly useful.

This pouch can be made in any size you like. A perfect opportunity to use a special piece of fabric from a previous project.

I always have a stash of long zippers at the ready for the making, as this technique is perfect for shortening the zipper to the length required. This way you can whip up a pouch in no time any time.

I will show you how!

You will learn to cut the fabric to best utilise the pattern and to add the zipper. You will also learn a lot of tips, working with interfacing as well as boxing the corners for a roomy pouch.

The pouch can be made using just the one or several matching fabrics. Your choice.

You will learn so many techniques and tricks in just one project!

• Useful Zipper Pouch approximately measuring 17cm high x 24 cm long x 8cm wide

What you need to bring:

• Fabric requirements:

Quilting cottons are recommended for the first project

For outer Pouch: 2 x 15 cm of contrasting fabrics

OR

For outer Pouch using one colour only: 1 x 25cm (this is if you choose to make your Pouch in one fabric only, not using contrasting fabrics)

Lining: 1 x 25cm of fabric (needed regardless of your choice of outer fabric)

• Zipper 30cm or longer. Polyester (Dress) zipper recommended for the first project. (Instructions will be provided for using metal zippers in future projects)
• Your sewing machine and general sewing equipment such as pins, fabric shears, seam ripper etc bring your machine manual if you have one.
• Threads are available for purchase

Skill Level:

This class is recommended for the sewists who are comfortable using their machine and have beginner sewing skills.
